This wonderful oval footed console bowl is the King Francis pattern created by the Reed & Barton Silver Co, circa 1940's. The company was started by Henry G Reed and Charles E Barton in 1824 and closed in 2015. The pattern is heavy with a crisp casting of a fabulous three-dimensional Baroque pattern consisting of acanthus leaves, scroll work and massive bunches of a variety of fruits. The oval bowl rests upon a rectangular base formed by the four legs. The bowl measures 11 1/2" in length, 8 3/4" in width and 5 1/2" in height. Stamped "Reed & Barton - 1684 - King Francis". Great vintage condition with no damages; some light internal marks form usage; light patina. Beautiful.
