Egermann glass - Friedrich Egermann (1777-1864). The highest acknowledgement obtained - his invention of red staining in 1832. Due to the invention, he managed to raise the Bohemian glass-making on the world standard and to win numerous awards. The tradition of the manufacturer has been preserved until now under the trademark “Egermann”.
This gorgeous "Art Deco" inspired designed vase, circa 1970-1990, is crystal glass with an acid frosted treatment on the bottom three-quarters of the piece. The crystal becomes thicker as you travel from the top edge to the base giving the piece weight and stability to hold your floral bouquet with ease. The enameled Art Deco design is breath-taking creating the image of peering though a stained glass window. The encrusted gold pattern consists of circles, shields, darts, and scrolls, the open parts which are stained with rose-pink, blue-green and black colors.
The vase measures 9" in height, 4 1/2" across the slightly flared top and 2 3/4" across the base. The piece carries the original gold and black foil label "Egermann - Czech Republic" and "R" in circle. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint. Fantastic piece of contemporary art glass.
