Hand painted china is beautiful and unique as it portrays the artists emotions and visions for the subject he or she is creating. This beautiful hand painted cabinet plate, circa 1910, was created in a small home studio or professional studio environment by a very talented individual with great attention to detail and subject naturalism.
The wide border is decorated with five clusters composed of three strawberries, two blossoms and a huge strawberry plant leaf. Separating these clusters are individual strawberries. The blossoms are a soft strawberry pink and white outlined and veined with gold; the strawberries are a soft creamy yellow flowing into a reddish orange outlined with gold with gold seeds and caps; The large plant leaves are encrusted gold with heavily outlined and veined. This gorgeous display is set against the while porcelain blank with a gold edge. Unfortunately the artist failed to include his signature on the piece.
The plate measures 8 3/4" across and is stamped in green "Limoges - C M C - France". There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint and lovely.
