The Royal Copenhagen Manufactory was established in Denmark in about 1775 by Frantz Henrich Muller. When bankruptcy threatened in 1779, the Crown took charge. Fine dinnerware and objects of art have been produced since that time.
This lovely porcelain vase is the "Country Cottage Scenic" pattern, It features a quiet country cottage along a sandy beach, surrounded by trees and a serene lake. The color pallet consists of shades of blue, green, tan and gray. The vase stands 5" in height and is marked in green "Royal Copenhagen Denmark" with the Crown, pattern number 2887/88; "CH" denoting the decorator and three wavy blue lines. The date of manufacture is 1969-1974 denoted by a bar below the "G" in Copenhagen. There is a scratch through the wavy lines which was used to denote a 'second'; I cannot see a reason for this marking. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. Please excuse the light spots in the photos due to the high-gloss finish.
