The Gerold Porcelain Company was founded in 1904 and rose to prominence for it's Dresden-style figurines, as well as hand painted household decorative items, until it closed it's doors in 1997. Prior to 1937 it was known as Gerold Porzellan and from 1937-1960 as Gerold & Company.

This darling figurine, circa 1937-1949, portrays a young nude boy riding a rearing adult goat. The entire figurine is snow-white with a high-glaze finish. The boy is holding a baton in his right hand, while holding the goat's mane with his left. The baton, the goat's large, curved horns, eyes and nose is decorated with gold as is the oval base on which the figures stand. The base measures 4 5/8" in length, 2 1/4" in width and the figure is 6 1/2" in height. Stamped with the Gerold mark "Gerold Porzellan - Bavaria" and pattern number "5204/2". There are no cracks, chips or repairs. Adorable art figure.
