The Carl Scheidig porcelain factory was founded in 1906 in the German region of Grafenthal. Production over the years has been mainly figurines in a variety of subjects.
This darling figurine, circa 1950-1960, portrays a young nude boy playfully frolicking with two young kid goats. The blue-eyed, blond, curly haired child is decorated in a flesh-tone matt glaze. The white and shaded brown spotted kid goats have dark dray hooves, eyes and mouths with a high glaze finish as is the sculptured white, gold trimmed base. The base measures 8 7/8" in length, 2 7/8" in width and the figure is 7" in height. Stamped with the Carl Scheidig 'Eagle" mark, circa 1935-1972, There are no cracks chips or repairs. Adorable art figure.
