The A.H. Heisey & Co. was founded in 1895 in Newark, Ohio. From the inception of the business, Heisey glassware was often advertised to be the finest crystal in America that was made by hand. The company ceased operations in 1957. During the 1930's - 1950's the company produced various animal and human figures in the form of stemware and figures.
This scarce figurine "Mallard Duck -Wings Up" was made in Lavender Ice crystal by the Dalzell-Viking Company in 1993 for the Heisey Collectors of America Club in a limited edition of 450 sets of the three types originally made: wings half, wings up & wings down. The figure measures 6 3/4" high and 4 3/4" from tip of bill to tip of tail. It is embossed 'D - HCA - 93". There are no cracks, chips or repairs.
