The A.H. Heisey & Co. was founded in 1895 in Newark, Ohio. From the inception of the business, Heisey glassware was often advertised to be the finest crystal in America that was made by hand. The company ceased operations in 1957. During the 1930's - 1950's the company produced various animal and human figures in the form of stemware and figures.
The wonderful figurine "Mallard Duck -Wings Up", circa 1947 - 1955, was one of three types made: wings half, wings up & wings down. The figure measures 6 3/4" high and 4 3/4" from tip of bill to tip of tail; and is unmarked. When marked it appears on the left side near the front. There are no cracks, chips or repairs.
