A lovely scenic neoclassical cabinet plate, circa 1900-1920 era. The central scene depicts four beautiful young maidens accompanied by a bovine. The depiction of the maidens and bovine is a well executed transfer design, while the surrounding scenery of trees, grasses, a gently flowing stream and gorgeous sky is hand painted in a lovely pallet of naturalistic colors. The subject extends to the very edge of the gently scalloped and gold trimmed white-ware blank supplied by the Charles Martin Limoges Company and carries the company back-stamp, a flying bird between two banners w/Limoges France, used after 1891. The plate measures 10 1/4" across with no cracks, chips or repairs.
