Hand painted porcelain is so beautiful no matter if done in a factory, professional decorating studio or a small home studio environment. The overall quality of the piece is what really matters.
This beautiful charger plate, circa 1900, was executed in a small home-studio environment by an accomplished artist. The blank is decorated with a branch of lush ripe and ripening blackberries along with a cluster of newly opened blossoms to create additional fruit in the near future. The gorgeous foliage ranges from fall shades of variegated greens and browns, to light green and pale rust shades. The background is done in soft hues of the subject colors. The edge is enhanced with a band of gold. The charger plate measures 12" across and is stamped in green "T & V Limoges France", mark of Tressemanes & Vogt, circa 1892-1907. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. Also have 5 matching 8 1/4" plates in my store.
