Hand painted porcelain is beautiful no matter if executed in a factory decorating department, professional studio or in a home studio environment. The end result is what really matters.
This wonderful hand painted charger plate, circa 1950, was created in a home studio or decorating class environment. The subject portrays a wild turkey in his natural habitat of fallen trees and wild grasses with rolling hills and hazy skies in the background. The pallet of earthy brown, rust and black blends with yellow, blue/green, blue gray and light blue to create a naturalistic setting. The plate is edged with a gold border. The porcelain blank is not marked as to maker and measures 12 1/4" across. It is artist signed 'M Groezzinger' on the front. There are no cracks, chips or repairs.
