J.H.Stouffer Company, Chicago, was founded in 1905 and continued in business until 1952. Known as a premier china decorating establishment during the era of the other great Chicago decorating studios. Jacob H. Stouffer was the seventh of nine children, born in the village of Adeline in North Central, Illinois.
This beautiful All Over Gold vase is the poppy and forget-me-not pattern with smooth gold overlay. The vase has the smooth gold overlay around the base defined by the two two horizontal raised rings and a wide band within the rim of the vase. The remainder of the vase is covered with the poppy and forget-me-not pattern. It measures an impressive 12 1/4" in height, 6 1/2" across the top and 4 3/4" across the base. It is marked with the Mark #13 in gold "Stouffer Fine China" circa 1938-1946. There are no cracks, chips, repairs or wear; some minor rust spots within the vase from casual use. Near mint condition.
