The Royal Dux Company, Duchov, Bohemia, was founded by Eduard Eichler in 1860.

This large Royal Dux porcelain figurine, circa 1990, features a young boy and his dog out for a walk. The dog, a type of setter of retriever, is gently pulling on his harness as he either sees or smells something of interest. He is a beautiful shade of golden tan with white legs and feet. The lad is attired in knee-length pants, loose fitting country shirt, tyrolean style hat with feather and jacket thrown over his right shoulder, in soft muted shades of steel-blue, grays and brown. The lad has wonderful facial features and dark brown curly hair. He is holding a stick in his right hand and harness strap with his left. The rectangular base is covered with pale green foliage and a portion of a fallen tree. The base measures 10" in length and 5" in width. The figurine measures 12" in length and 14" in height. It carries a blue/green stamp "Royal Dux - Made in Czechoslovakia"; impressed "2867" and "51"; pink triangle mark and gold foil sticker. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. Impressive piece.
