Howard B Reury was born in New York in 1870. He worked as an artist for the Pickard studio from 1903-1912. He operated his own studio during the tens and also worked for the Wight studio.
This beautiful hand painted cabinet plate, circa 1913-1919, is decorated in a beautiful Christmas poinsettia floral motif. The large variegated red blossoms with shaded green and yellow stamens are nestled among large shaded pastel to dark green leaves against a pale green background. The wide gold sculptured border has a crimson line separating it from the central motif. The plate measures 8 1/4" across and is artist signed "Reury" on the front. Stamped in green with a crown and "H & Co - Selb Bavaria", circa 1911-1934, for the Franz Heinrich & Company. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. The decorating is stunning. Wonderful Chicago decorating studio piece.
