Hand painted china is so beautiful no matter if done in a factory, professional decorating studio or in a small home-studio environment. The overall quality of the piece is what really matters. This beautiful dresser vanity set was expertly decorated in a home-studio on closely matched porcelain blanks obtained from different porcelain makers.
The set consists of a large dresser tray, covered powder box and covered hair receiver. The motif consists of bands of clusters and single variegated pink tea rose blossoms, nestled among leaves in shaded green, aqua and tan, connected by russet colored stems. The background is a blended combination of pale pastel aqua and yellow highlighting the white blank. Each piece is enhanced with wide gold borders and edges.
The dresser tray, with gently contoured shape, measures 12 3/4" in length and 9 1/4" across at the widest part. It is stamped "UNO - Favorite - Bavaria".
The round powder box measures 4 1/2" across and 2 3/4"" in height. It is stamped "Bavaria".
The round hair receiver measures 4 1/2" across and 2 3/4" in height. It is stamped "Bavaria".
There are no cracks, chips, repairs. The try has a small porcelain separation on the edge that occurred during firing the piece. This is not a crack and is decorated over the separation. (See photo #8) Lovely set.
