Lovingly created by the owners and artists: Barry and Sue Dovaston. The retired couple now resides in North Carolina. The Basu Bears are highly coveted heirloom collectibles that were created by Basu Enterprises, established in 1985 in South Florida. The objective was to create a beautiful and collectible heirloom teddy bear, using unwanted, but still precious, fur garments. The collection of bears were exhibited at major art and craft shows throughout South Florida, and also in the Midwest collecting numerous ribbons and awards along the way.
This adorable Basu Enterprises teddy bear is from a Limited Edition production. The fur is Chinchilla with swede leather pads and muzzle, adorned with a white bow with ribbon flower. Signed "Basu Bears 6/89" on the left foot, cloth tag “Hand Crafted by Basu Enterprises” and original hang-tag informational pamphlet. The arms and legs are jointed for movement, thus bear can be displayed sitting or standing. When in the standing position the Bear is 9 inches long. Excellent condition and ready for adoption.
