This set of 2 porcelain tea cups and sauces was produced in Europe, (France or Germany), during the late 19th century, circa 1880-1900. The quality of the porcelain is very fine but has no identifying marks. Each set has a somewhat different transfer motif, but are definitely from the same original set.
The cups and saucers are transfer decorated with wildflowers and grasses. The pallet of colors include red, pink, purple, blue, gold, green and brown. The butterfly wings handle and butterfly body is delicately detailed in gold as are gold line rings and edges of the cups and saucers.
The saucers measure 5 5/8" across; the cups measure 3 1/2" across and 2 1/4" in depth. There are no cracks, chips, wear or repairs; near mint condition.
