This beautiful transfer scenic Delft Charger depicts a quaint and quiet Dutch canal scene with scattered buildings, four windmills, rutted dirt road, wild flowers and meandering canal, against a cloud covered sky backdrop, all executed in light to dark blue shades. It displays the artist's name who rendered the original painting.
The charger measures 12" across and 1 1/2" in depth. It is stamped in green, "O & E G Royal Austria", for the Oscar & Edgar Gutherz Company, Alt-Kohlaw, Austria, circa 1889-1918. The base ring is pierced for hanging via a wire. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. Lovely charger plate.
