This wonderful vintage Mexican sterling silver link bracelet, circa 1940-1950, is created from beautiful carved and polished banded agate stones in a pleasing gray/green coloration. The center of the bracelet features an arched section of agate that measures 2 3/4" in length and 1 1/8" in width. The motif is an Aztec/Mayan figure in the center with wavy, slanting sides. There are three separate links on either side, each containing an elongated agate cabochon. The separate portions are connected with rings giving the bracelet a 6 5/8" length. It is secured with a box (tab insert) clasp. The tongue of the clasp is stamped in script "P L Mexico" and in block letters "Sterling". Wonderful condition with no issues and original patina.
Often called the earth rainbow, Banded Agate is a healing stone for body, mind and spirit. It can increase concentration, honesty and memory. Physically, Banded Agate increases stamina, helps with digestive conditions and protects the body from harmful radiation from X-rays.
