Furnivals (Ltd), Elder Road, Cobridge, Staffordshire Potteries was organized in 1890 and closed in 1968, Formerly Thomas Furnival & Sons.
A lovely brown transfer-ware pattern of quail game birds featured in their natural surrounding of various foliage and flowering bushes. The pieces are also decorated with bands and borders of different geometric shapes and forms. A very popular pattern with an oriental influence of design which was made for a number of years. These pieces are stamped the quail image and "Furnivals - 1913 - Quail - Made in England - Rd No 684771" The registry number indicates production in 1921.
The coffee pot measures 7 1/2" from spout-to-handle, and 9 1/4" in height to top of the finial. The demi-tasse saucers measure 4 1/2" across and the cups measure 2 1/2" across and 2 1/4" in height.
