Hand painted china is so beautiful no matter if executed in a factory decorating department, professional studio or home studio environment. The quality of the finished product is what really counts.
Two lovely items hand painted in a home-studio environment by accomplished artists. The first is a lovely cabinet plate which carries the initials of the artist "FKG". The motif displays lush bunches of both rich red and white (pale yellow) varieties of currants nestled among variegated green and pale yellow leaves. The background is a blend of brownish-red, teal, tan and buttery yellow. The gently scalloped rim is gold gilted. The plate measures 7 3/8" across and is stamped "O & E G Royal Austria. The second is a darling gold-handled and edged nappy which carries the name of the artist "Slay". The motif displays lush, red currants hanging from brown vines covered with shaded green, yellow and mauve foliage. The background is a blend of light teal, pastel yellow and apricot. The nappy measures 6 1/8" across and is stamped with the three crown Germany mark (faintly). There are no cracks, chips or repairs; two lovely items to use or display.
