Hand painted porcelain is so beautiful no matter if done in a factory, professional decorating studio or a small home studio environment. The overall quality of the piece is what really matters.
This beautiful cabinet plate, circa 1900, was executed in a small home-studio environment by an accomplished artist. The blank is decorated with shaded red and red/green currants hanging from a twisted brown vine covered with variegated green, yellow and brown foliage. The background hues are a pleasant mix of medium to dark brownish-red and buttery pastel yellow. The edge is enhanced with gold gilt. The plate measures 8 3/8" across and is artist signed on the back "Archer". Stamped in green "D & C - France", which is the mark for Delinieres & Company, circa 1894-1900. Lovely plate
