This lovely hand-painted cracker/biscuit was executed in a home-studio environment during the early 1900's. It is beautifully decorated with branches of lush, red, raspberries nestled among leaves in shades of green, brown, yellow, orange and mauve against a background of blue/green with hints of peach and mauve. The decorative curved handles and finial are gold gilted. It is signed and dated by the artist "Daisy A. Nance '09".
The cracker/biscuit jar measures 6" across the top, 8" from handle-to-handle and 5 3/4" in height. The blank was manufactured by Jaeger & Co., and is stamped with the logo "J & C - Louise - Bavaria" a mark used from 1898-1923. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint and gorgeous.
