Josiah Wedgwood (& Sons, Ltd), Burslem, circa 1759, Etruria, circa 1769 and Barlaston, circa 1940. Formerly in partnership with Thomas Whieldon. The Wedgwood mark signifies superior quality and workmanship.

The Wedgwood 'Edme' pattern is listed as one of the twenty best dinner-ware patterns ever produced by the Wedgwood Company. It was introduced in 1908 and continued until 2006. The stylized embossed ribbing of this design is reminiscent of the ridges of a clam shell - harking back to Josiah Wedgwood's love of shell collecting. The off-white porcelain, ribbed body, braided edges and pineapple finials create and elegant as well as timeless design.

This lovely, large gravy boat w/attached under-plate measures 8 1/2" from handle-to-spout, 3 1/2" across and 6" in height; the oval under-plate measures 9 1/4" in length and 6 1/2" in width. It is stamped in green with the Barlaston Mark introduced in 1940. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. Lovely piece. Additional pieces of this pattern are in my store.
