An American, David Haviland, was an importer of French and English porcelains during the early to mid-1800's. In 1849 he moved his family to Limoges, France, to begin his own porcelain manufacturing and decorating factory an as a result, Haviland China, was born. Upon his death in 1879, his sons split the company. Charles formed Haviland & Co., and Theodore formed Theodore Haviland which produced these items.

The pattern is Pink Spray, which consists of delicate pink shaded rose blossoms, soft green leaves with hints of blue/gray flora on a white blank with no trim. These pieces carry the Mark "T" which was used from 1937-1956. These lovely dinner plates measure 10 5/8" across which are the largest, and hardest to find, size made in this pattern. Stamped with the red and black mark "Theodore Haviland - New York - Made in America - Pink Spray". There are no cracks, chips or repairs; some minor utensil marks may be present. I have additional pieces of this pattern in my store.
