This lovely hand painted ewer is unmarked as to maker, but most likely was created in Germany or Austria, circa 1890-1920. It has the soft biscuit background found on Royal Rudolstadt, Royal Worcester and similar companies of the era. Composed of slightly curving panels that start at the base and decrease in width near the floral embossed top and spout. The front is hand painted with white and shaded pink apple blossoms, delicate brown stems and soft green leaves, outlined and veined in gold gilt. The decorative twig handle has an embossed floral at the intersection of the two parts. There is additional gilt highlights on the handle and embossed top portion. Unmarked it is impressed "364" and "II" on the base. The ewer measures 4 1/2" across the base and stands 8 1/4" in height. There are no cracks, chips, or repairs. Lovely.
