The range of wares produced by the Doulton Company since its inception in 1815 has been vast and varied. First located in Lambeth, England, and later expanding to Burslem, England, in 1882.
This beautiful set of 4 salad plates is the 'Tapestry' pattern produced from 1966-1988. A bright, cheerful pattern, it consists of a wide border of square and rectangular panels each picturing floral or fruit designs. The rectangular panels contain two designs of delicate white floral; the square panels contain designs of purple plums, red grapes, blackberries, pear, green grapes, cherries and purple grapes. The border has on each side a band of light green, arrow-shaped designs. The edge is trimmed with gold gilt. The dinner plates measure 8" across. Each piece is stamped with the Royal Doulton logo, "English Translucent China - Tapestry - T.C. 1024 - Copyright - Doulton & Co. Limited". There are no cracks, chips or repairs. Other lots of this pattern are in my store.
