This wonderful hand painted fruit plate portrays a selection of fruits and fall foliage as a back-drop. The motif consists of a naturalistic bunch of lush purple grapes and two richly colored, ripe peaches, one cut in half with ridged dark seed exposed. The background is a variegation of vivid pink, gray, reddish brown and yellow with silhouettes of gray/green leaves with several detailed leaves in gorgeous fall hues of bright yellow, rusty brown and fading green. The scalloped rococo border is heavy gold gilt.
The plate was decorated by the Lazeyras, Rosenfeld and Lehman decorating factory in France, circa 1920. The plate carries their back-stamp in green "Crown - over L.R.L. - Limoges France". The plate measures 10 1/4" across, is factory drilled for hanging on the wall and artist signed "R C Solis". There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint condition.
