The Royal Dux Company, Duchov, Bohemia, was founded by Eduard Eichler in 1860.

This wonderful lion, circa 1990's, is presented in a naturalistic pose, slowly walking and watching while he protects his pride. Coloration from white to rich tan to dark brown. The figure measures 9" in length, 4 1/2" in height and 2" in width. Marked with the pink triangle "D - Royal Dux Bohemia"; Half Circle stamp in green "Royal Dux - Made in Czechoslovakia"; and impressed "625 over 54". There are no cracks, chips or repairs. Very nice fourth period figurine.
