Figural fairings are small decorated nineteenth century hard-paste porcelain objects, largely figural groups and covered boxes. They were usually produced in England and Germany and sold at country fairs during the last half of he 1800's.
This lovely ring or trinket box features a lid adorned with 3-dimensional girl child sitting on a pastel blue pillow. Her attire is a white dress is decorated with Dresden flowers with magenta slippers and ribbon trimmed bonnet. Her facial features are so precious. The lid is adorned with attached white daisy-like blossoms, while the base is embossed with vine foliage. It measures 2 3/4" long, 2" wide and 3 3/8" high. Unmarked as to the maker. There are no cracks or repairs; most of the daisy flowers exhibit some damage; the original paint and gilt shows some expected ware for its age
