Hand painted porcelain is so beautiful no matter if done in a factory, professional decorating studio or a small home studio environment. The overall quality of the piece is what really matters.
This lovely serving bowl, circa 1920, is the product of a home studio. The white china blank is expertly decorated on the interior with luscious red, ripe raspberries suspended from brown/red vines and nestled among colorful foliage in shades of medium green, brown/red and gray/blue. The exterior is a solid soft tan hue. The blank has an embossed, slightly scalloped border which is decorated with a narrow gold band. The unmarked bowl measures 8 1/4" across, 2" in depth and has no cracks, chips or repairs. No artist signature.
