The Carl Tielsch Company was organized in Altwasser, Germany (Silesia) in 1845 and continued under this name until the early 1900's.
This lovely Tea Pot w/4 cups/saucers set, circa 1875-1891, is decorated with sprays of soft pink buds interspersed with leaves in variegated shades of pink and blue on delicate brown stems and gold tracery highlights. It is an early transfer design with hand applied highlights. The crossed-twig handles and tea spout have gold accents. The Tea measures 9 1/2" from handle-to-spout and 7" in height. The base is marked in blue "C.T." with the Eagle or Phoenix bird (smudged) and in gold "1149 over 3" which I believe is the pattern number. The saucers measures 5 5/8" across and are marked as the tea but without the pattern designation. The cups measure 3" across the top and 2 3/4 in height and are marked as the tea. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; significant gold wear. I have additional items of this pattern in my store. Beautiful early set.
