The "RS" is derived from the founder, Reinhold Schlegelmilch, but it was the work of his sons, Arnold and Ehrhard that made the mark famous. With factories in Suhl and Tillowitz, a majority of their production was exported from 1892 until the beginning of World War I. The Suhl factory closed before the end of World War I; the Tillowitz factory remained operational until the beginning of World War II.
The lovely cabinet plate, circa 1910 - 1920, is decorated with three large white and shaded pink tulips along with two in muted moss green with long shaded green stems against a cream, teal and moss green background. The edge is trimmed with gold. The plate measures 8 1/4" across and is marked "R S Germany" in blue. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. A lovely R.S. Germany plate.
