Alpaca silver is a metal alloy of copper with nickel and often but not always zinc. The usual formulation is 60% copper, 20% nickel and 20% zinc. It is named alpaca silver for its silvery appearance, but contains no elemental silver unless plated.
This lovely, circa 1960, bracelet consists of four individual, arched links of alpaca silver with intricate abalone shell inlay. The iridescent shades of blue and pink are breathtaking. The bracelet measures 7" in length, 1" in width and has a box in tongue clasp. One of the links is stamped "Alpaca - Hecho en - Mexico". Wonderful vintage condition with no damages.
