Cameos come in many sizes, materials and images and have been a standard jewelry item for every lady's collection. This lovely cameo pendant necklace, circa 1920's-1930's, was molded from a black material. Perhaps it was originally intended to be worn as 'mourning jewelry'.
The oval cameo portrays the detailed profile image of a gorgeous young lady from the early 1900's with fabulous coiffure, facial features and flowing neckline gown. The oval cameo measures 1 3/4" in length and 1 1/4" in width and is bezel mounted in a gold-tone or gold-wash mounting. It has a silver-tone link chain, measuring 23" in length with spring clasp which is not original to the piece but looks fine. Vintage condition with no damages.
