Lazeyras, Rosenfeld & Lehman was a well known and established decorating factory during the 1920's.
This beautiful game plate portrays a pair of pheasant game birds in their natural surroundings of tall wild grasses, lavender spring blossoms and hazy blue sky in the background. The birds plumage is a pallet of dark blue, russet, tan, brown and white. It appears that one may be nesting, while her mate stands guard and comforts her. The wide ivory border is decorated with three crimson enamel cartouches with heavy gold floral design, separated by embossed crimson. lavender & gold emblems. The rim is adorned with a delicate gold floral design. The plate is artist signed 'Muville'. It measures 9 3/4" across and is marked in red "L R L - Porcelaine Limoges France" with a crown. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. I have another matching plate with different game birds in my store. Stunning colors and craftsmanship.
