Coro produced the Vendome line from 1944 - 1979. Named for a city in France, Vendome is associated with high-end Coro designs.
This lovely and scarce designed Vendome brooch is called a 'trembler' or 'tremblant' because a part of the piece quivers with movement. The brooch is in the form of a large floral blossom. The filigree silver-tone findings create a double six and five petal flower with a large, three layer, 'en tremblant' stamen, adorned with prong set, round, blue sapphire rhinestones. Very 3-dimensional, the brooch measures 2" across and 1 1/4" in depth. Marked "Vendome" within an oval cartouche. The piece is in near mint condition.
