This is a lovely pair of framed needlepoint silhouettes, circa 1900. The silhouettes portray the bust of a lady with fashionable bonnet, while the gentleman wears a top hat. The busts are executed in black against a light tan background. Each are centered within an oval wreath of pink roses, delicate blue floral and green leaves. The lady's has a pink bow, while he gentleman's bow is blue. They are matted with a newer blue and green floral print. The wooden frames have a Victorian design embossed front covered in medium blue velvet, heavy pressed paper slide-in backs with attached wire stands.
The frames outside measurements are 7 1/2" in width and 9 1/2" in height. They are in excellent vintage condition; the velvet covering shows wear on the high points of the design which only adds to their decorating image.
