This beautiful hand painted nut/candy, circa 1905-1907, is decorated with a selection of Almonds, English Walnuts and Filberts in their shells with a background of brown leaves. The exterior shades from tan to light to dark brown with a pearl iridescent interior. The oval oval bowl had a gently scalloped folded-over rim and rests on four feet. The rim and feet are solidly decorated with gold.
The serving bowl measures 7 3/4" in length, 6 3/4" in width and 3 3/4" in height. It is stamped in black with Mark #3 "Stouffer's Hand Decorated", and "PIAG Royal - Made in Cecho-slovakia" for the blank manufacturer. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. A wonderful bowl by a premier Chicago decorating studio with early studio mark.
