Designer Daniel Kasoff worked hard to achieve his professional standing. In 1948 he opened his own business and in 1950 was joined by son, Larry. The brand name "Florenza" was for Dan's wife, Florence. Only Kasoff original creations were so marked, with destinations as Saks 5th Avenue, Lord & Taylor and Bloomingdale's. The company closed in 1980.
This lovely necklace and earring set reflects old world elegance. The necklace consists of two strands of ribbed gold-tone beads in graduated sizes, with an oval, coiled rope design clasp, set with a large, foiled, emerald rhinestone, mounted open-back. The two beaded strands measure 15" and 17" in length, including the box clasp. The earrings are an exact copy of the clasp and measure 1 1/4" in length and 1" in width. Each earring is stamped "Florenza" with the copyright symbol; the necklace is unmarked. Near mint condition.
