Coro produced the Vendome line from 1944 - 1979. Named for a city in France, Vendome is associated with high-end Coro designs.
This lovely floral brooch is constructed of heavy gold-tone metal. The large six-petal blossom has two rows of petals, the outer row a medium shaded peach color, while the inter row is a pastel peach hue, both with wide gold edges. The throat of the flower has a large round faux pearl surrounded by two rows of peach/amber rhinestones. The flower rests on a gold branch with shaded green enamel leaves and a stem holding two additional pearls. On the reverse, the gold-tone is smooth on the flower and textured on the leaves and stem. A very 3-dimensional design, marked "Vendome" within an oval cartouche. Most marked pieces were produced after 1953. Measuring 3 3/4" in length, 2" in width with safety clasp mechanism. No damages in near mint condition.
