Star and Staret jewelry was originally produced by the Star Novelty Company, Inc of Chicago. The company began making costume pieces marked "Star" in 1925 -1940. The company changed its name to "Staret" in the 1940's. Known for exuberant design and exceptional use of enameling and high quality rhinestones. The company ceased operations in 1947.
This simple, yet gorgeous creation, circa late1940's, portrays a silver-tone metal, long, slender leaf and accompanying stem overflowing with various size large, round diamond, open-back, foiled rhinestone blossoms. The brooch measures measures 4" in length and 1" in width. Stamped "Staret" on the leaf. The condition is excellent vintage with no missing rhinestones and very little if any metal wear. The bling value is fantastic.
