The Chikaramachi - Made in Japan back-stamp was used by the Noritake Porcelain Company on items manufactured by its' branch on Chikarmachi Street, Nagoya, Japan, circa 1928-1946. The company mark, in red or black, was a crown inside a wreath.
This lovely set of hand painted bread & butter or dessert plates consists of a medium blue border outlined with gold and decorated with three simple bouquets of shaded blue forget-me-not flowers, yellow centers, soft green leaves with gray-blue and blue highlights. The plates are stamped with the company logo and "Chikaramachi - Made in Japan'. There are no cracks, chips or repairs.
