J.H.Stouffer Company, Chicago, was founded in 1905 and continued in business until 1952. Known as a premier china decorating establishment during the era of the other great Chicago decorating studios. Jacob H. Stouffer was the seventh of nine children, born in the village of Adeline in North Central, Illinois.
This beautiful set of three flat-style dinner plates is adorned with shaded light to dark blue and white forget-me-not flowers, nestled among soft green leaves and floating blue pedals. The wide pastel blue border is separated from the white center by a delicate gold scroll. The white center, gold scroll and slightly different floral design makes this an extra lovely motif. This style was made famous by the Minnie A Luken Studio of Chicago. The plates measure 10"across and are stamped "Stouffer Fine China", circa 1938-1946. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. Great color.
