J.H.Stouffer Company, Chicago, was founded in 1905 and continued in business until 1952. Known as a premier china decorating establishment during the era of the other great Chicago decorating studios. Jacob H. Stouffer was the seventh of nine children, born in the village of Adeline in North Central, Illinois.
This wonderful hexagon shaped toothpick holder is adorned with a swag bouquet of light to dark blue and white forget-me-not flowers nestled among soft green leaves and floating blue petals. The pastel blue top is separated from the creamy base by a wavy line of tiny floral and delicate leaves. The interior has a pearl iridescent glow. The toothpick holder has a gold edged hexagon-shape top and rests on a raised round base. It measures 1 7/8" across and 2 1/2" in height. Stamped with the manufacturer's mark, which I think is "Noritake Made in Japan". Stamped in black "Stouffer", circa 1938-1946. There is no cracks, chips or repairs
