Celebrating 25 years of Antiquing Bliss
Northwood Glass Blue Opalescent "Leaf & Beads" Footed Bowl - image 1 of 7

Opalescent glass has been widely accepted since its inception in the 1880's. The major production covered 40 years (1880 - 1920) by famous American and European glass houses.

This lovely "Leaf and Beads" pattern bowl, is a 1905 pattern from the Northwood Company. Bowls were made with three twig feet and a variant piece was made with a dome base. On the exterior around the base of the bowl are over-lapping leaves pointing upward to rows of vertical beads forming panels with opalescent pointed tips creating the rim. The bowl has the plain smooth interior which lets the design show through in great detail. It rests on three curled twig feet. Produced in opalescent colors of white, blue and green, plus custard and carnival. It measures 3 3/4" in height and 7" across and though produced by Northwood is unmarked. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. Great pattern and color.
