The Arthur J. Wilkinson (Ltd), Royal Staffordshire Pottery, Burslem, was established in 1885. Formerly Wilkinson & Hulme.
This lovely transfer-ware oval covered vegetable bowl, circa 1900, is the 'Arcadia' pattern, which consists of a beautiful array of floral filled urns and baskets, bouquets and branches, scrolls and plumes all in a medium green with gold lines and highlights. The bowl measures 6" in height, 11" from handle-to-handle and 8" in width. The stamp is a Crown over a Lion framed in a ribbon "Arcadia - Royal Staffordshire Pottery - Burslem - England", There are no cracks or repairs; two small flakes along the edge of the lid that have darkened with age (see photos). Priced accordingly. Great pattern and color.
