The Thomas Morris, Regent Works, Longton, Staffordshire Potteries, was in operation from 1892-1941.
This lovely 30-piece dessert set is the "Severn" Pattern, circa 1892. The motif consists of a transfer pattern of salmon colored flowers and leaves with burgundy scrolls and leaves outline in gold. The blanks have an embossed design with gently scalloped edges trimmed with gold. The set consists of 10 dessert plates, 7" across; 10 cup & saucer sets, the saucers are 5 1/4" across and the cups are 2" in height and 3 3/8" across the top. The stamped mark is a Lion over "TM - Severns - Made In England - Rd No 197460", which indicates 1892. The Lion stamp was used from 1892-1912. An extra plate and saucer will be included. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; the gold trim shows moderate wear. The pattern is stunning.
