A beautiful transfer decorated porcelain serving bowl for fruit, desserts or display. The bowl flares out from the base forming twelve panels each of which have embossed pleats and are edged with delicate scallops. The bottom portion is decorated with six branches of red, pink and yellow roses accented with muted green foliage against a background of shaded pastel green. The wide upper border has alternating rose or rose buds in each panel against a shaded pastel pink background. There is a narrow gold band separating the two colors and gold edging.
The bowl measures 10 1/2" across, 3 1/8" depth and 5 1/4" across the base. The china blank is stamped in black "M Z Austria", circa 1891-1917; the Monitz Zdekauer Porcelain Company of Altrohlau and Bohemia. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; minor gold wear on edge.
