Zeh Scherzer & Company was founded in 1880 to produce table-wares and decorative porcelain items.
This lovely game plate, circa 1900, has a wonderful transfer design of a cock pheasant presented in his natural surroundings. The pheasant presented in shades of light to dark brown body, electric blue head and distinctive white neck ring is standing before a background of green and brown foliage against a rosy pink and blue sunset sky. The outside border flows from brown to green to yellow.
The plate measures 9 1/2" across and is factory drilled for easy hanging if so desired. The backstamp is green "Z.S. & Co. - Bavaria", circa 1880-1918. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. Very sharp colors.
